Special Invitation (St. Louis, Mo.), Friday, October 17, 2008

October 15, 2008

Stop by the world-class Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park for a gallery talk to kick off a beautiful autumn weekend with some culture! Then head out to one of the area’s wonderful restaurants nearby, like Riddle’s, to talk about the artwork you just saw over a bottle of wine and some tasty tidbids from their small plate menu. In St. Louis, there’s never a reason to stay home on a Friday night, unless you just want to.

Gallery Talk–Royalty, Reliquary, & Power: Highlights from African Art
6:00 – 7:00 pm

Join us in the galleries for a lively and informative discussion with Independent Curator Shannon Fitzgerald. Space is limited in smaller galleries; please arrive early. Meet at the Information Center.

Over the back entrance to the galleries at the Saint Louis Art Museum’s beautiful Corinthian style building is inscribed, Dedicated to Art and Free to All. The only charge for admission is to the traveling special exhibitions, but even those are free on Tuesday afternoons & evenings.
