Two important public meetings are coming up regarding future direction of the Gateway Arch grounds on the St. Louis riverfront, per the National Park Service’s master Plan (Draft General Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement) process.

They have five alternative plans including a preferred alternative which is an attempt to connect the grounds with downtown.

The meetings are:

Feb 23, 5 to 7 p.m., at Tucker Theater, beneath the Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Mo.

Feb 24, 6:30 to 8:30, at Steinberg Auditorium, Washington University, St. Louis, Mo

I’ve linked below to the National Park Services page that includes all related documents, the latest being a 200-page document, finalized last month. The document list is in the menu on the left of the page I’ve linked. The Park Service has commenced the 60-day public review period, which ends March 16, 2009.
